  3. One of the top priorities for an HR department of one is to know the business, as the role is strategic and tactical. Many pitfalls that HR practitioners have is that they do not understand the business in which they are servicing. Thus they become reactive versus proactive to the organizational changes. For HR to be an asset, it must understand some fundamentals: How does the organization make money; who are the stakeholders; who are the competitors; what is the organization's competitive advantage, and what is the culture.

By having a good understanding, then HR will be in a position of change and have built credibility amongst the leadership. This results in collaboration with the CEO, CFO, and senior leadership to build the right organizational structure. In addition, to supporting the basic human needs of the workforce.

  5. Certainly! The statistics presented in the post indicate a number of important trends in the job market. For example, the fact that 96% of job seekers say that transparency is important suggests that companies that are upfront and honest about their practices and policies are more likely to attract top talent. Similarly, the finding that 79% of job seekers use social media in their job search highlights the importance of having a strong online presence for companies, and also underscores the need for job seekers to present a professional image on social media.

The statistics related to job applications and interviews also provide insight into the competitive nature of the job market. The fact that each corporate job offer attracts an average of 250 resumes, and that only one candidate typically gets the job, demonstrates the importance of standing out in a crowded field. Additionally, the finding that recruiters spend just six seconds scanning a resume underscores the need for job seekers to tailor their resumes and highlight their most relevant skills and experiences.

Finally, the statistics related to job seeker and employer preferences highlight the importance of factors like career growth opportunities, company culture, and relevant work experience. Employers who prioritize these factors are more likely to attract and retain top talent, while job seekers who prioritize these factors are more likely to find fulfilling, rewarding careers. Overall, these trends suggest that the modern job market is highly competitive and rapidly evolving, and that both employers and job seekers must be agile and strategic in their approach to succeed.
